A poem dedicated to my infant self.

A poem dedicated to my infant self.

A Poem by Darci Jordan
"

Advice and encouragement I would like to give to the infant me, who hasn't grown up and experienced the heartbreaks of life.

"

"Oh sweet darling
Won't you grow,
To be a person full of hope
And someone who never lets go.
Never let go of those who are there,
Never let go or push away those who care.
And if you do, that's okay;
You are human and you will make mistakes.

Oh sweet darling,
You will get hurt
But please know you don't have to search
You don't have to search for people who will love you
Because there are so many who already do.
Friends may abandon you and leave you behind,
But look closely and you will find,
Someone who will always treat you kind.

Oh sweet darling,
You may be depressed
You may grow to be someone who always feels stressed.
But what you struggle with will not be your name.
It will not define you, it will not mean you are insane.
What will define you is who you truly are,
You are God's beloved, you are a bright shining star.

Oh sweet darling,
Please love yourself forever.
Don't feel self-hate, not once not ever.
Please never harm yourself or wish you were dead,
Never believe the negative thoughts in your head.
And if you do self-harm, if you do feel self-hate, please understand that it's never too late.
It's never too late to reach out for help,
Because you are worthy, beautiful, and deserve to love yourself.

Oh sweet darling,
Don't you see?
I am you, and you are me.
This poem shows that you do feel self-love,
That you do care about yourself, the one who was created and made from above.
So sweet darling, spread your wings and fly.
Go and live your extraordinary life." ❤️
