Altruism does exist

The feeling is the reward,
No curse, need no gratitude.
Let me accomplish,
Refrain from harming me, no harm would I wish.
Isn't that what politeness is?
That's not altruism, that's just what is.

Now, you make them feel guilty for these things,
When those are the ones that make us sing.
For those benevolent, there are none in the world,
Ensuring none feel what they preserved.

If they do not want it, they might need it.
Not a favor upon you, but an impact on the universe.
If someone gets paid for the good they do, it does not make it lesser.
They deserve what they wanted to create�"
A heaven on earth, even better.

The love hurts, yet freely given,
Or those small inconsequential acts that go unnoticed.
The actions not written away, your child, your friend�"
Everyone is capable of selfless deeds.

Despite what these scientists say, it persists,
Selfless does exist.
