Love is not RomanceA Poem by AleenaA poem: Love is not romance Why were Hansel and Gretel left all alone And Snow White was living forlorn? Love softened the Red Riding Hood, Allowing them to be harmed. This is how betrayal is Comes prancing and shapes every fairy tale. The reasons for love driving us to extremities. Love is not romance, a fable we tell Love is surprises and discoveries as well Expanding your boundaries, Gaining the perfect vantage point To give the final blow With a gifted rose riddled with thorns. Romance is that feeling. When they meet your expectations, Always there for your heart, securing not stealing Your breath and dreams, but cherishing like precious dew Suited for a heart: strong and weak. Girls, kill those butterflies, A warning disguised as love. Look for romance, that reminds you who you are, where you trade moments, instead of laughs. Ditch murderous love embrace fortuitous romance.
