A Chapter by Daryl
"

From a writing prompt shared with my friend, Adi: "Wand of Abstractness".

"

Concrete thought-blocks,
Age-hardened,

Exclamation points of
Creativity’s surrender
To practicality

They sit inert,
Heavy, upon the
Barren expanse of a land
Once green and fertile

Help me, my friend,
Lift this light-heavy
Wand of abstraction

To strike the calcified patterns,

Watch them turn to dust
That, rising in the breeze,
Seeds new clouds,
Mingles with the airborne
Waters of life to make
Rain,
Fertile rain,
That turns the landscape
Green again
