How to Get a Snack at Dean Health Clinic
February.17, 2009

Now, if you happen to ever spend time at this clinic, and are either hungry, bored, or want to take a walk, but don't know where to go, these are the directions for you. I myself have made my times at Dean Health Clinic a bit more enjoyable by wandering around the clinic, and on one of my many wanderings, I once mad the discovery of a snack machine in the basement floor. There are actually many ways to make your way to this snack machine, but I'll tell you two ways that will twist and turn you through the clinic, and give you an idea of what this place is like. One way is on the way there, the next is on the way back. Don’t forget to bring some money, maybe $2.00 at the most.

Directions:

1. Well, it depends on where you start, but I'll start you out in the one place that EVERYBODY starts out at, which is the front entrance. (Unless you already know your way around the clinic, and know another secret opening, but if you knew another way, you'd probably know where the snacks were, so these directions would be pretty useless to you. But since you probably have never been here before, these directions would actually be quite useful to you.) The front has two sliding doors with mats on the ground, and as you walk in, you'll see a wall with various fake plants dangling from it on the right, and a bathroom entrance to your left. You walk forward Until you see a long hallway to your right.
2. Walk along this hallway until you spot the two elevators on your left. Press the “Down” button, and stand peacefully until the door opens. Walk in, and press “Basement Floor”
3. As you walk out of the elevator, turn right and walk forward until you spot a microwave, and to the right of that is a room with vending machines on the inside. Walk in.
4. Select the snack of your choice. You can choose from a candy machine, drink machine, soda machine, or the normal snack machine.
5. Now that you’ve got your snack, it’s time to make your way back to the front entrance. First, you’ll walk out of the room, and turn the way you came which was from your right side. Rather than taking the same way you came though, take a different one. Walk forward, until the elevators are in view, but this time, turn to your left.
6. Walk forward, and you will walk up a ramp that takes you up a few feet. You can observe your reflection in the mirror bubbles hanging from the ceilings..
7. Once you walk up to a check-in counter, take a right, and go forward.
8. Well this is the very twisty part. After walking forward, you make these turns; right, forward, right, forward, right, and forward one last time. Go left, and left once more.
9. You should find yourself standing in front of an elevator. Press “Up”, because you are in the basement, and go to the “First Floor”. You could actually go to any of the four upper levels.
10.When you walk out of the elevator, you should be able to see the entrance of the clinic, and you can exit that way. Enjoy your snack!
So there it is, the directions on how to get a snack at the Dean health clinic located in Madison, Wisconsin. This would have been useful to me when we started going to the clinic regularly, because I would normally sit around in the small room, and do nothing as my moms cast was being put on, or just because we were waiting for something. I hope that you do not end up in this clinic, because if you’re there, you’re probably there for a reason, and usually, reasons for being in a health clinics are not good. I guess this paper just shows that wherever you are, you can’t really become bored, even if you are in the most boring place in the world.
