The sun, the moon, the stars...

The sun, the moon, the stars...

A Poem by Summer Blue

The sun comes up…

I can not stand the sight of you,

I hide all day in another room,

I can not stand to tell you the truth,

I say,” It is me…not you”…

The clouds begin to cover the sun…

I appear for a moment pretending we are fine…

When I see your face so sad…

I kiss your lips thinking that will make you content…

I walk away with a smile and hide some more…

While mumbling, “It’s something I am going through”…

The sun is fading…The moon is becoming clear…

I see in your expression you want me near…

I sit with you for a while to make it look like I’ve been waiting for this all day…

Still talking about how sorry I am for myself …

How sorry I am to make you feel the way you do…

The moon is full in the dark sky…

I tell you I want to lay with you…

I want to hold you…

Still apologizing for not being here…

I tell you you’re all I have ever wanted…

You’re everything I have been waiting for…

Silence falls upon the starry night sky…

The stillness tells me you are asleep…

I fail to recognize the damp spot on your pillow…

I never heard the sniffles or felt the sobs…

As I sneak quietly down the stairs…

I never thought you’d notice I wasn’t there…

As the sun begins to rise again…

Rain like drops flood your cheeks…

Curled up in a ball you look at the clock…

You hold yourself tight as you did all night…

Still wondering what I could be doing…

What is more important than holding you, touching you, wanting you…?

You begin to fear the worse…

Just then you awaken…realizing it was a dream…

Your heart pounds…knowing this is what you did to ME…

You turn to see if I am there…You realize your biggest fear…

I am not near…nor am I far…

Knowing I will never again…

Under the sun...the moon... or the stars…

Ever be where you are…

The poem story is powerful. When the walls cave in. Hard to remember what brought and held two people together. I tell the young people. Be careful what you say and hold on tight. When you are left alone wondering what happen. The story is over. I like the feel and emotion of this poem. Under the sun... the moon... or the stars there are no secrets. A outstanding poem.

This is very sad, the end of love and
neither seem to know what is happening
to them. It is over, only a few memories
hold them together.
Beautiful sad story. It is all there. It is over.
Perhaps this is just a daydream. The writer may
have concocted this sad story, or it may be about
a friend----but it is done !

Very well written.
