At Midnight

At Midnight

A Poem by Summer Blue

18 years have passed at midnight...
As quickly as the speed of light,
My little girl is taking flight...

I will let her know this midsummer night,
Being all grown up has its many invites,
Some a delight,
Others not by a long sight...

I will continue to kiss her goodnight,
Be here through every life fight,
She may be an adult in her own right,
But for me she will remain my little girl tonight...
