The One You Cannot Live Without

You say from your lips, It is me,
The one you dreamed of for many years,
The one you fell in love with,
The one who you say is worth the fight,
The only one you desire to hold in the night,
The one you could not imagine losing,
The one who fulfills your every desire,
The one in which you want to spend the rest of your life...

You say from your actions, It is her,
The one you held onto in fantasy,
The one you look at with passion in your eyes,
The one who you said you loved most,
The one you shared the same things with, as you now do I,
The one you still hate the thought of losing, so much that you hang on to every shred,
The one you cannot let go,
The one in which you need to have in your life, even if only a piece...

I am hearing your every word,
Knowing you are afraid of me leaving,
Wanting to say anything to keep me here,
My head is clouded by the visions I see,
Knowing I don't want to be less than I am,
Wanting to agree, just to stop you from speaking...

As days go by,
Every where I look I can see you and her,
How perfect you were,
The things you both shared,
Wondering what else you said was ours, that was yours and hers,
Knowing that most of our moments weren't our moments at all,
You have had many of these moments with someone else...

I will not live as I have in my past,
It is not enough for me to be not enough, or to be someones equal,
I never again will feel less than,
My heart will not suffer knowing you will allow her to lurk inside my head,
Knowing she will always be inside yours,
Therefore, If she does not fade to nothing,
I will once again set myself free,
I will love you enough to allow you to return to the one you cannot live without...

I wrote this at a time I really felt betrayed. I was trying to say with this one that you don't have to be cheated on to feel cheated...You don't have to have a person right next to you or speak to them to be still holding on to them, photo's and material things you keep could make a person feel you are keeping a piece of them.
