The Last Fight

The Last Fight

A Poem by Daphnee
"

Dead or Alive, this is it

"
Drums matched the beat of my heart as my eyes held the gaze of my enemy
He sneered a twisted sneer, showing off his weapon and my weaknesses
Though afraid, I stood taller, refusing to flinch and refusing to run
The sky displayed ghastly colors as the wind whipped my hair around
Toxic darkness poured into the air and surrounded my evil but clever adversary
Lightning colored the clouds as the thunder shook the Heavens
The solid foundation beneath my feet stood still as my soul caught fire with rage and courage
'Dead or Alive', I thought, 'this will be my last fight'
Closed eyes, clenched fists, my unseen army at the ready, I take a big breath... 'lets make it worth it'
