Love is horribleA Poem by DaphneeHorribly good
Love must be horrible
Or so I've heard Women cry, men self-destruct How could a 4-letter word hold such power? All around, people find love Happy endings do exist, this I do know But the feeling itself must be horrid Women overthink, men overdrink How could that be wonderful? Don't get me started on Romeo & Juliet Die for love? I wouldn't get a papercut for love But that was all before him I wish I could say I held my ground I didn't know what falling felt like Until him It was so easy and oh so great Who knew my walls could come down? Little, unexperienced me turned to a new chapter I acted strange, definitely not myself I'd draw his last name after my first How was I acting so silly? He kissed me, I smiled but then I frowned Was this love?.... "no", I thought This was just a fling Then he grabbed my waist, pulled it in close Who knew that eyes could dance and sparkle with passion? He kissed me slow, I even stood on my toes The doubts ceased, love had won me over Love must be horrible Or so I thought © 2017 Daphnee |
