War

War

A Poem by Daphnee
"

The war going on in my head

"
There is a war going on inside of me
Its horrible, though its one you cant physically see
I feel it, ripping me apart
I have pity on my own poor heart
There are opposing sides that do not get along
One side is right and one side is wrong
They are constantly fighting and it hurts deep inside
It's hard, especially since I don't show it on the outside
There are two internal voices in my mind
Whom they belong to, is my journey, to find
It will be a challenge, that I know
One is a friend, and the other is a foe
It hurts yet I am willing to stand strong
Hopefully, this War will end and not stay long

I love how smooth this poem was to read, it was a little too close to home though.

There's nothing wrong with rhyming.
Rhyming will make you think and rethink of the possible words you can use and yet retain the meaning/purpose of the lines, it increases your vocabulary to an extent.
Another tester is to try and write within a set metre... Limericks can be simple jokes, or serious test.
If you are comfortable in rhyme... then rhyme.

This is a deep piece of someone their inner selves, and the battle of our own complexities. I think it's good.
