The End

The End

A Poem by Danzig16

*I didn't sleep at all last night
Tossing and turning trying to understand
Your thought process and the endless fights
Seeing the blatant dishonesty firsthand.

I thought I could withstand
The storm for the sunshine after
I am the person who holds the sword in my hand
This is MY life and I am the drafter

This is my story
I'm sorry if you couldn't hear me
My heart is still heavy
As I try to bask in this glory.

Finally able to see what's right in front of me
Falling short on my adult decisions
None the less still able to stand tall
I may fall but I now know how to avoids these collisions.

Thank you for reminding me that there are only few you can trust
This life we live may take some time to figure out but it's better than this disgust.

Juliespenhere read requested me on your poem & I’m glad she did. This is a very powerful message. I love to see originality & intelligence in the way heartbreak is portrayed (hate whining & blaming!) I love the way this message acknowledges the disappointments, yet that’s balanced out with a sense of victory for finally deciding enuf is enuf. I love that there’s no self-blame, but just honestly admitting we expect one thing, we think we can handle this or that, but in the end, we can be proven wrong about that. But this doesn’t make us foolish & your message shows us what healthy self-esteem looks like (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
