![]() We live in a worldA Poem by justdandy![]() inspired by "What a wonderful world" by Louis Armstrong![]() We live in a World: “And I think to myself What a wonderful world.” No, what a shameful world. What is wonderful about, War, Hunger, Death? We Live in a World, full of Ignorance. “I see trees of green, red roses, too, I see them bloom, for me and you.” No, I see the wealthy, ignoring the hungry. I see a guy on a skateboard, driving past an old lady, who wants to cross the road. We live in a World, full of Hate.
“I see friends shaking hands, sayin', "How do you do?" They're really sayin', "I love you.” No, I see friends saying “Hi” When really they’re sayin’ “Why are you here?” We Live in a World, that live in War. “I see skies of blue, and clouds of white, The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night.” No, I see skies pouring blood. I see clouds drenched in wine. Maybe once it was, was a “Wonderful World” But what I see now- Hatred, Ignorance, Hunger,War, Death. © 2015 justdandyAuthor's Note
