For a few months we've been at war

We hurt each other and slammed the door 

And all this time apart

Is starting to go from sweet to rather tart

I feel like I'm wandering through a desert 

I'm trying to stop the bleed and nurse the hurt

All this time feels like a drought 

Through it all I finally see what I'm all about

So if you care at all 

And if I can work up the nerve to call

Will you bring the rain?

Wash away all the pain 

I keep trying to forgive 

But I keep going back to relive

A small part of me wants revenge 

But I mostly just want the drought to end 

So please, bring the rain
