Stand Together

We turn on the TV to see another martyr is dead

And without a second thought we turn it off and go to bed

We hear another missionary is imprisoned over there

And we just tune it out as if our hearing is impaired

 

How can we Christians claim to be one body?

When we’re constantly at each other’s throats

We need to stand together

Stop only looking out for number one

We need to stand together because that’s the only way we’ve won

 

A lonesome child is depending on a prayer

And we leave him there to despair

Because to our problems we think his don’t compare

You’ll leave a man to jump the world’s hurtles

Just because he’s not in your social circle
