You should’ve left my love in the gutter

Where all the angels shutter

And nothing but curses all the demons utter

You should have left me in that place

Where love was a notion left in space

You should have left my love laying in that filth

And just worried about yourself

You should’ve left me alone

And with the self-destructive tendencies to which I am prone!

And I would try to find a shorter word for "tendencies" in the last line.
