Ugly World

The world is an ugly place

No love, no compassion

Fathers deliver blows to their child’s face

Girls starve themselves in the name of fashion

Kids are murdered out on the street

While boys impregnate girls at the age of sixteen

Mothers have lost their minds to drugs they find so sweet

And young people shoot themselves because of things they’ve seen

 

But I spit in the face of the world

For hope is just over the horizon

Because Jesus’ death caused the chance for eternal life to unfurl

Because of the Lord the future will only brighten

We just await his return

When he comes once again in all his glory

So we can escape hell’s burn

And thus complete this world’s story!
