Finish What You started

Finish What You started

A Poem by Dannyisawriter

Finish What You Started

Lord how is it that after all this time

I still feel like I’m standing still

Still trying to wipe off all this grime

As I try to take my flesh down for the kill

When will you finish what you started?

I see change all around

But I feel none within

I know I’ve been found

But it’s so hard to shed your old skin

I want to be who you made me to be

But I don’t have a clue who that is in you

I want to be rooted in you like a tree

But I feel like somehow I’ll go askew

Will you finish what you started?

I know your word says you have a plan

I know your word says you won’t abandon

Which is why I haven’t ran

Because with your love I am branded

I trust you’ll finish what you started!

at some point , i felt like the poem looses its flow. ending with rhyming words makes it a bit attractive. Somehow somewhere if you just change the arrangement of words it will be much better.

A hat trick of reviews and the theme changes a little here it is obvious and it has always been since I have been reading you writings that you have a very healthy relationship with divinity. I sometimes though like in this case wonder if at times you don't seem to ask too much? That not even a slight critique to your writing as it is very clealry explained but the message to me comes out a little funny. In the parts I inhabit we tend to think that it is safe to assume 1% of inspiration (grace of god) and 99 % of perspiration.

Thankyou
