View of Self

View of Self

A Poem by Dannyisawriter

God:

When he looks in the mirror

He sees a lot of things

I wish he could see himself clearer

But he always compares himself to the kings

Me:

When I look at my reflection

All I see are the scars

And the imperfection

Nothing but a bunch of flaws that need to be hidden behind bars

God:

I want him to see that’s he my son

A child whom I dearly love

But he constantly feels the need to run

And try to hide from me thereof

Me:

I see what I’ve done

I see all the filth within

No one could stand to have me for a son

Not someone full of my sins

God:

If only he could see that I have forgiven

Then he’d be able to forgive himself

And he’d accept all the gifts I have given

If only he would open his eyes to his self that resides in me

Beautiful! Love the conversation layout, and the wonderful message. Enjoyed your acbd rhyming. I wrote one and asked, in my reviewer notes, if anyone can tell me the name of that verse format. I liked the simple, easy to digest message of love that you revealed.
