Two Oceans

Two Oceans

A Poem by Danny Coykendall
"

This is about how man can easily be deceived by a source of beauty.

"

Two great oceans draw me near,

I find myself swimming,

lost in her eyes,

I fear not of drowning.

Only fear of losing my way in the great majestic waters,

I hear her voice,

that of an angel's harp,

every note plucked with grace.

Yet an eerie sensation arises,

sinister intensions surface for she is a siren,

to lead me by the lust of man,

I become fool to her call.

I struggle to remain afloat,

the current drives me deep,

my breath is taken away,

for her kiss has sealed my fate.

I love the imagery and the topic. The two sides of the ocean clearly but very poetically distinguished from each other. Great write.

At first I read that as "every note puked with grace" I love how it twists and the flow and imagery is superb.
