Friday CruiseA Poem by Danny PhoenixPoem inspired by my homeward commute from work one afternoon in 2007Cruising. Afternoon journey has begun
Six lanes of steaming asphalt Baking in the hot, May sun Road warriors launching their afternoon assault Cruising. Warm winds caressing my hair Refusing to succumb to impatience The weekend is here, I have no cares Ignoring the race, letting inner peace commence Cruising, four counties, thirty-eight miles Mr. Marley, steel drums, providing my soundtrack Climbing, turquoise bay and her green isles Inviting, subtropical tranquility, not looking back Cruising, the Skyway's apex falling behind Descending, gliding across Tampa Bay St. Pete high-rises ahead, Sunday downtown stroll on my mind Stressing I am not...Enjoying life on this Friday! © 2008 Danny PhoenixReviews
