Windy Day

Windy Day

A Poem by Danny Russell

The wind is up,

Playfully caressing the tops of trees,

Flirting with the afternoon sun

And driving

The laughing leaves madly

Along the fence line.

Oh to be a child again!

Lifting my arms in pretentious flight

As a quiet joy seized my being

That only children understand.

Wisdom should come with age

But paradise belongs In the heart of innocence.

Well said!!!! There is an enchantment that comes with being a child that we seem to lose as we grow up.

The flow of the poem is perfect and well written. Personally the poem was soft for the mind. It gave a since of calm with a pec of joy, remembering the simple joys of childhood.I really enjoyed what I read. Great job!

"Wisdom should come with age

Ah, yes, sometimes we're so overburdened with everything, we forget to take the time and simply be.

"Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven"

Good write.

Innocence is the birth and wisdom helps us die peacefully. In between, we unintentionally pursue mediocre virtues. Nicely written. Thanks for sharing
