I Don’t Wanna Be Yours: After JCC

I Don’t Wanna Be Yours: After JCC

A Poem by Danny Metcalfe

I wanna be your feather duster
Tickling your sense of self
I wanna be your General Custer
Stealing your ancient land’s wealth
If you like your tea steaming
Let me be your teapot-creaming
I’ll tell you the meaning
I don’t wanna be yours

I wanna be your hot bath
On a cold winter day
I wanna be your only path
When you want to walk away
Let me be your squishmallows
Take me with you to the gallows
I don’t care to fill you with hallows
I don’t wanna be yours

I wanna be your hair dryer
I will not overheat or blowout
I wanna be your air-fryer
You can’t cook without
I wanna be your magical potion
Hold your hand with sweet emotion
Deep as a puddle's motion
That’s how deep is my emotion
