Two Poems

Two Poems

A Poem by Danny Metcalfe

Affection

Her affection moves the earth, with music Divine -

And holds Heaven’s ambition in flesh and stone;

Knowing of the True design,

She moves not in form, but in Beauty shown.

She, living beyond the living death,

purifiers all poisoned breath,

Of savage mortal life, gone astray

From the Spiritual Sun,

which the Spirit knows beyond the mortal day.

And the sick who live in sickly air,

Who seek the pure Spirit of her affection,

In the living dead and false of prayer,

Discover their own rejection!

 Her Eyes Are Silent

Her eyes are Silent

like Heaven singing wild "
Filled with the soft ease and purity of a flower,
And all abstracts dissolve in her sight, into the innocence of a child,
Just as Spiritual songs part time from a false hour.

Love rises and falls where she lies,
Like rain never touched by death or youth.
All that is Lawful dwells in her sighs,
Stirring Faith in the Mystery of Truth.

Her Dawn unseen, gives rise
To her Sun of Guidance.
I fold and slip into her bosom
And become found in her Silence.
