Little Ode to Poppy

Little Ode to Poppy

A Poem by Danny Metcalfe

You lose Love when you try to hide it,
Like rain lost in the origin of Night, stammering to release…
breaking into shadows of ripening fruit.
You go to take a bite and are shocked to find
It is not the real thing.

I will not hide my Love,
My Love will rain down, covering the earth in sober wine.
No drunken shadows of fallen angels will poison
The pouring of our very Pure Love.

After each pouring,
the Sun breaks in your smile,
and your aura casts its never-ending rainbow
where I follow its path
to the Gold of your Essence,

Forever in your Breath, the Light of the world.
