View From A WindowA Poem by Danny MetcalfeFrom the window, I
see the blue wash of the sky and the fingers of the wind stir the
wooded Kingdom. The crows among the silk of green echo their
shadows from sound to sound. Music of old
seasons. The cobwebs of time
are catching the flies of melancholy And in the
movements of flowers, leaves, and fruits; creatures of Light Chase one another,
playing purely like innocent children. Crazed by the Moon, an old man rides a bicycle
in circles around the street. The grey of his
wild beard has gone to his head… And the patter of
his breath has jumped over the hills of the wind, Hidden now in the
womb of space. The great wood Divinely
smiles, startling the crows. And as they rise An arm of Spring
lifts the eyes of the day towards the
invisible Dawn. © 2022 Danny MetcalfeReviews
