The Bear.

The Bear.

A Poem by Danny Metcalfe

The Bear in the dead of summer sings to serenade the fish, the
strength
of his mouth as vulnerable as the flute---his prey cannot resist
the waltz of his lungs.
Savouring the taste he sits under the green of a tree, scratching
His back upon its wood ladened body and rests a while among the tall flowers.
A cricket chirps in a frenzy of kisses…
The Bear rises and wanders into the wood…the evening shadows
are jolly and quiet. He moves like a tremor from a flame, knowing
the embers of his movement are pure...

great imagery... yes a bear can be very mysterious at times, but since he hovers over others in his strength, he can enjoy his life and not worry too much about other creature's danger to him. I love the words "serenade the fish" probably his happiest meal. Well done.
Best,
B.

Watching the lumbering beast can lull your sensibilities. They are magnificent creatures. I enjoyed this summer stroll amongst nature.
