Venus among the nightingales.A Poem by Danny Metcalfe…Out from her shell coffin, she undressed among the nightingales and threw her robes to the sky! Her rosy breasts fresh like a singing bird, throb with the great hymn of nature! Her hair white as flame, warms the evening air…we stroll through the countryside, hand in hand like royalty… we make crowns from the flowers…we laugh and feel the great kiss of the wind. …and she says: Let us bathe in the tears of our dreams. We wash our faces with the white of the moon, while eating the fruit of the stars…upon her neck a tiny spider…trembling, worthy of attention! It is the sign of the festive evening…we make our way through some mysterious forest, running like wild animals…we listen to the hum of the leaves…a sinking song charmed by its roots…she sings along! How beautiful the sound! A fiery tear rolls down my cheek… She wipes my cheek and disappears among the nightingales and throws her robes to the sky! © 2021 Danny MetcalfeFeatured Review
