The Colossus Choir.A Poem by Danny MetcalfeI heard the song of the colossus choir. Singing in proverbs stolen from the abyss. The sombre day renewing and so we loved the force that approaches, the confession and conviction of vision and invention. Horse’s tails frolic in the wind. In a chamber of numbers that took the form of things unknown by man, I composed vast shapes with fire of crimson red, from the seed of an oak. The sound of lute and harp rang out like waves on silver rocks on the circling shore of naiads. In mighty rivers, the daughters of the eternal flame swim in favorable seasons, softening the new form. But now, with stars sinking into dreams, I saw the aspect of my light in the arms of chariots riding on the faith of my intoxication. I halted in excitement. The night cannot restrain you! My imprint embroidered on holy temple walls for all to see and chant. Now a rumor in the fabric of time. © 2020 Danny MetcalfeReviews
