Day Frights, Night Delights

Day Frights, Night Delights

A Poem by Dani
"

I wrote this about my feelings for a good friend who committed suicide nearly a year ago now.

"

wispy fragments fluttering though the mind"

white butterflies,

sweet kisses"

while you sleep, cures what makes you weep.

the bright clarity of reality"

startling truth,

that faithful darkness"

In a world so faithless.

Alas! Tis but a dream"

The truth dies,

The heart cries"

That long forgotten happiness was not what it seemed!

By day his visage makes me sigh"

He dies,

I cry"

Oh! How beautiful was the lie?

to shrink inside that is the prize"

to embrace him,

to face him"

in a place where reality dies.

I could feel the energy in these words. The form and flow worked really well to convey the emotional convection and helped push the imagery into the mind of the reader. Overall it was a very well constructed piece that worked well to bring across the subject. Nice Ink!
