Hidden Flower

Hidden Flower

A Poem by DannyGraves

Tonight I want to dwell on regrets and pain,
As I ride southward from the tower.
Day dreams in the early morning rain.
All I see is the past,
my only connection,
the hidden flower.

I pass the Pier with the looming wheel,
a lonely monument over the sea.
As the moon sets over the ocean,
lost in thought,
I think only of you and me.

The person I knew is gone,
the heart and spirit changed.
And I am left still the same,
15 years thinking of you,
4am riding in the rain.

As my daily journey nears it's end,
I'm left again feeling hollow.
The night time air my soothing friend,
we will fight time again tomorrow.

I pick up the pace to beat the rising sun,
I don't want to see the world in light.
I just want to go home to sleep through the day,
and see her face again,
like I once did,
on that long forgotten night.
