Silent Cat

Silent Cat

A Poem by DannyBoy300
"

A story of a feline's natural instinct twisted in a Poe-like style.

The Silent Cat

Crawling, step by step, through the dew-kissed vegetation
Not taking to mind it's loneliness
The cat just stands there
On its haunches, purring in anticipation
For the ignorant life that would soon come its way

As the pale moon casts a light across the land
The feline catches a scent, the scent of an animal
The cat locks on to its prey
It's heart beats in anticipation as races for the hunted
Nature's predator has caught up to its hunt

The cat purrs in the face of its prey's sounds of worry
The prey is cornered and the cat lifts it paws, claws extended
There is a moment of silence as the claws slash and end the animal's life
The cat then cleans its claws and carries its prey towards its home.
