The energy of the lifelessA Poem by Complex Disaster
From place to place the faces all show a familiar stain
From the things they've overcome in this scab on the world Though they've found so many outlets for all their woes The depths of their eyes tell the truths they leave untold With a burning pain in their hearts and a smile painted on their faces Some march toward their medicine cabinets and some crawl away to die Will their ever be a way to truly numb our pain? And will their ever be a remedy for our sickness? We nervously scrape our counter-tops for the truth We stumble as we search for the answer in our bottles As our dreams slowly wither away © 2011 Complex Disaster |
