Short Words: A Ship With an Identity CrisisA Story by Danielle MarieSometimes we get so hurt by people that we go inside
ourselves and we don’t really let anyone in. Sometimes the tragedies of our
lives leave us so twisted we don’t know right from wrong, we lose all purpose,
we can’t even put into words how messed up we are. That doesn’t even do it
justice. It’s like a boat out at sea drifting away from its route and then it
turns into a turtle and then it has feelings and it doesn’t know why because
deep down it’s a boat and then the turtle meets another turtle and it tries to
tell the other turtle its stories, its life, how it got there and it has no
idea because at the end of the day it was nothing more substantial than a boat.
And that’s about as much sense as we can make of ourselves. A boat with an
identity crisis. © 2015 Danielle Marie |
