Mental Block

Mental Block

A Poem by Able Mable

With the heat on my face

The wind to my back

Songs mingle with the smoke

I am the wood

You are the flame

Caressing and destroying

In one great movement

Fluctuating, never constant

No I don’t mind it

I don’t mind at all

That mental block has your tongue

And I can’t convince you otherwise

Speak sweetly to the others

Leave my questions unanswered

I’ll be the shadow

Cast from your light

Sing a song of things you never say

Fulfill your promises

And speak how you feel

Silly banter fills the silence

Actions speak volumes

Don’t be so passive

I don’t mind it

I don’t mind at all

The distance destroys me

When you’re sitting next to me

Will you overcome your demons?

Don’t let them destroy us

But you wouldn’t mind…

Your smile is my sunrise

The passions there

So it’s gotta be right…right?

It’s sad that I doubt these days,

What was once a certainty

No. I don’t mind it

I don’t mind at all

I give too much

Without expecting back the same

I’m not worth the effort

I’m the middle girl

The one who’ll help you through

I will be the embers

When your flame dies

When you move on

I’ll be pinning for your caress, for your warmth

I’ll love you  no matter what you do….cuz I still don’t mind at all, that you’ll never let yourself love me.
