Soulful Remorse

 

This night I leave your heart, I leave it forever

I leave it in sadness, I leave it in darkness

While your tender naked body lays on the bed where we shared our love

My soul is being consumed in feelings of guilt

You sleep so peacefully, so calm

Yet in my wake I'm feeling such despair, such frustration

 

Tonight I leave your lips I leave them with a sorrowful kiss

Tonight I leave your eyes, I leave them with a tearful glance

Tonight I leave your skin I leave  it with a trembling caress

I leave the shelter I felt on your arms

I leave the warmth of your hands

 

Like children we were once playing “LOVE” day and night

Without any care for the world with out any regret we danced till the dawn

Tonight I leave your heart

Tonight I leave your love

Tonight I leave your tears, I leave all I have

 

I leave you while you sleep so I wont make you cry

I leave you in the darkness of night so you wont try to find me

I commend to your heart, all the love, freedom, and life

So please don’t hate me

I leave your heart I leave in regret

Because I love you

 

I leave in silence

The last kiss

It destroys my soul

I leave you…because I love you

 

I leave in the darkness so when when you wake up I’ll be long gone

But as I walk out the door you whisper

“Good bye, I forgive you...because I love you”

I'm not a big fan of freestyle... however the words in your poem are so very powerful and full of emotion. It's almost like the reader is actually the person experiencing what is happening - it makes you feel like you are the one there. Well done :)

This was so sad it made me want to choke out in tears. The ending makes you feel bad for that person and makes you wonder why he is leaving but other than that, outstanding piece!
