A Young Life

A Young Life

A Story by DaniiJ

Life

I was only eight when she left.

Packed her bags and took his heart,

when I was only eight

It hardly mattered.

The world lay humbly at my feet

At eight years old.

I was only fourteen when she died

Fell peacefully asleep with my mama’s smile,

when I was only fourteen.

It mattered a little, I guess

For the world turns cold and vicious,

at fourteen years of age

I was only fifteen when he left.

Receded into the depths of his mind,

When I was only fifteen

It hardly mattered.

The world was laughing cruelly

at fifteen years of age

I was only sixteen when he died

Took my smile and broke my heart,

at only sixteen years of age.

I don’t like to think it mattered a lot (but it did).

For the world had turned against me,

by sixteen years of age.

Wow such tragedy at a young age! The world is full of pain and loss, this poem demonstrates it well! Thank you for sharing!

Sixteen years with this whole matter of changes, this really hurts.

Took my smile and broke my heart

A very nice line, maybe htis is not hte one with most emotion inside, but it's the line which gives me a strong feeling..
Beautiful Write!
