AddictionA Poem by Danielle TaylorMy view on addiction
It's a disease that they need to be freed of!
This is what they expect you to believe. If you disagree they'll ask you "where is the love?", And tell you "you dont understand addiction!" For your body you choose not to poison!! Because you stand by your convictions; To live life in reality instead of an illusion. Their families cry, Terrified that their loved one may die, But that's not the addicts' concern! They don't care who they burn, A sad lesson that many have had to learn! Standing on crutchs: Excuses such as Having a bad childhood, Or being misunderstood. I'm sorry for their misfurtunes! But let's think of what's most important. Which is the foundation We create for future generations! If addiction is something we condone and enable, (by believing the lies brought to the table) Then we'll be promoting lifes of instability, Instead of lifes of serenity! © 2016 Danielle Taylor |
