UntitledA Poem by Danielle Thilette
Slit my throat!
Burn me at the stake! Still I rise with power, rage, and grace. An ache in my belly from breaking your cage. You cannot contain this holy plague. With Blood in my teeth and bones at my feet. Hips dance elliptical orbits. My voice sounds the fleet. We are coming with hunger, courage, and grief. You spilled our blood. We flow with hurricanes in our veins. Our wombs release your burdens of shame. Our throwns reclaimed. Our throwns reclaimed! Goddess of Earth Mother of All The Black Woman Rises We ain't never gone Fall. © 2018 Danielle Thilette |
