The Modern Anaesthetic

The Modern Anaesthetic

A Poem by Danielle Searby
"

A poem that has many years under it's belt.

"
Progress eclipses common sense.
Another day, another dollar.
The skyscraper, the commerce, the many filthy hands.
Laying waste to the past to build the future.
The eyes are bleeding from the bright lights of the enterprise.
Your thoughts erased by a dream you despise.
She bought her new gadget and her new clique.
Welcomed into paradise with a salivating trick.
The unwashed masses, the stock market, the eye in the sky.
Watching all the innocents while the precious few reconstruct their lie.
