A Poem by Danielle Searby

                           By Danielle Searby.

They turned off the water... they cut down the trees.
There's poison in the water...
cyanide in the drain.
The leaking roof over our heads is someones petty kingdom.

The landlord's prying eyes...
the landlady's whim.
The floor is creaking from the ghosts they've dismissed before.
When will they turn off the oxygen?

A 2% lateness fee... thanks for your co operation.
It increases month by month as you clamour to keep up.
Will there be enough food?
The children cry...
