Dreamer

Dreamer

A Poem by Danielle

Hide away from what you want

Yet speak of nothing but

A compromise within yourself

Is almost never enough

Your dreams stay sealed beneath your head

Never revealed, and so instead

When you peer past the frozen glass

Hidden in a mirror

You see only a blurry shape

Wonder how to make it clearer

You want them all to stare your way

To know your expensive name

But the price has decreased over time

Your thoughts remain the same

Why is it when you reach so high

Your arm, it starts to tire?

So another, the task is given to

And with your dream they are inspired

They take apart the words you say

And wrap it round their head

So as they feed it to the world

You still lie in your bed

Share with the world your energy

The dreams that spark your life

But be cautionary in your findings

Or another will unrightfully shine
