Bear Den

Bear Den

A Poem by Danielle Renee

Sixteen years
and nothing to show for it
hundreds of tears
and not a cause behind it
What is it that I’ve done
to make things turn out so unwell?
I just want to run
instead of falling back into hell.
What I would give away
to be alive and well again,
to never fall away
and crash into the bear den.
But as you know,
I’m running again,
I’m falling again,
I’m crashing again,
right into the bear den.
