Snake Skins

Snake Skins

A Poem by Danielle Renee

I’ve shed my latest snake skin
and hoped that this “new” beginning
isn’t like the last, that everything
has been left behind and the foundations
of my sanity have been renewed.
But my finger tips are still holding
onto slowly falling cliffs and I
just can’t seem to let go.
