This Is No Home

This Is No Home

A Poem by Danielle Renee

The angels fall
To this place I call a home
And terror is all
You will find if you roam

Children hide in corners
And the men are a waste
They brush women off their shoulders
And alcohol is all you will taste

Will you still try to look me in the eyes
And tell me everything is okay
That we could manage a compromise
On any given day?
