Different

Different

A Poem by Danielle Renee

From your eyes the world
is different, people are
more than they think,
they’re all important.
The elements of Earth
flow through your body
inside and out, making
elegant swirls of phantom
feelings.
You’re a true work of
nature, you are what
the world needs, someone
to give love to everyone.
You’re the girl who dreamed
of joining the Peace Corp.
reaching out and healing
broken people, teaching
village children to read.
If the world could see
you as who you really are,
instead of calling you names,
they would love you too.
They would love you like I do.
