Colors Division (formally known as Opposites Attract)

A Poem by Danielle Olivia
"

revised version of the piece

"

when words are not big enough

and actions lose all meaning

the tides begin to turn

the sun begins to set

the moon rises lazily

and everything is gone

love that was once here

now lost in an eternity of no where

dry eyes produce no tears

lips speak no words

the world begins to crumble

and out of the ashes

we start anew

dragons breathe their fury down below

but we rode upon the backs of those dragons

flew amongst the stars

following those galaxies wanderers

we were the king and queen

of a land unknown

dancing upon the shores

of a long lost land

bare toes etching in the sand

dancing to never ending song of serenity

[But now…

the dragons are gone

waters dried

stars fallen

moon crumbled] (possible change?)

two so different people

day and night

perfect and imperfect

right and wrong

black and white

you are still, you

and I, I am still me

I think it's more the opposite of that thought coyote, actually, the fact that they are so different they can't live together in harmony hence the almost despair, hands flung up in the air last few lines:

"whoever said that opposites attract
was wrong …. "

The whole poem speaks of what happens after happily ever after and the story ends, (dragon gone, water dried,) no longer king and queen or at least no longer viewing life that way.
Only edit I'd suggest is here where you say:

"and you are still, you
and I, well I am still me"

I'd get rid of the word 'well' since i think the point still gets across dramatically and to me it fits the narrator personality in this piece more.

The words in this poem is true. Opposite do attract. I believe two people of the same balance would drive each other nuts. We need people with different desire and actions. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem.
