Broken Wings

Broken Wings

A Poem by Danielle Olivia

Longing for adoration

Starved for affection

Wretched angel

Hiding behind her angel wings

Deplorable acts --- no atonement

Punishment, eternal damnation

Her wings wont grant her what she needs

 A rescue, salvation, an escape

With blackened eyes

and now a darker soul

She sings sailors to their deaths

Lifeless bodies sink

to the depths of no tomorrow

Boats crash upon rocks

Of unending grief and sorrow

Moon goddess divine

Stares up at the stars

Prays to the gods above

But prayers fall upon deaf ears

Cast out of the heavens

She Seeks refuge down below

But Lucifer didn’t want her

She still had wings

Stuck between

Heaven and hell

In a state of endless

Purgatory

With nothing left to do

She continues to sing

Poor sailors

"Moon goddess divine

I love this part for the idea that even though she is a "goddess" she still has her own betters and leaders that she hopes and strives to please. I assume she's a siren, and the piece has the feel that one of her kinds songs is bound to play.

A nice vision create by this amazing poem. I like the story in the poem. I like the desire and the ending of this poem.
"Cast out of the heavens
She Seeks refuge down below
But Lucifer didn’t want her
She still had wings "
No weakness in this poem. Create a vision of beauty and I like the ending a lot. Thank you for the outstanding poem.
