The Feeling in the Dark

The Feeling in the Dark

A Poem by Daniel James Cardis
"

What is it that exists inside?

"

It somehow exists out of the light,

No matter how you work or try to fight,

It evades your thoughts,

Existing at the back of your thoughts,

Disturbing the happiness of life,

When everything works, working just right,

Is it human or life, to think outside of ones mind,

To hurt and to hinder your own strides,

Or is it a need we must confront? To be dealt with and faced,

Is it needed to grow, or is a path to the past,

An impulse to sabotage our own lives,

This is a decision we must make,

Something, at a time we all must face,

To deduct, to decipher this feeling and the spiralling thoughts,

Nicely construed. It's a shame that most people live "in the dark"(haha), happily disregarding this darkness. It's consuming and immense.. but it's alive.
