You're Heroine

You're Heroine

A Poem by DanielGalford
"

Another poem. This isn't my strong suite

"
Let me tell you how you feel to me.

Your laughter is like being struck by lightning,
It make me feel alive.
Your eyes are like the sun on my skin,
they make me feel warm.
Your words are threads, a needle, and stitches.
They close my wounds.

And I'll never know your touch but
I can imagine the satin.
I’ll never know your lips up I know that feeling of staring at fireworks.
I'll never know your love but I know most people don't live to see the thing they long for the most.

I am like you favorite animal in the zoo, you can see me and admire me,
But the glass separates us.
I am just your diary, your dream catcher, your pillow you cry into,
And it has been the best part of my life to be those things.
And it was better for you to be none of those things anymore. It was better for you to not be there for you at all.
So now I'm nothing to you. And you're happy. So I am too.

I am happy under dark skies with no lightning or fireworks to break the silence.
I am happy with my skin going numb from never feeling the sun anymore.
I am happy with the stitches opening up when I when I try to breathe.
I am happy because of you.
